A Day In the Life

Don't you just love those days when you get into bed and feel like you really utilized the day? Like you really got stuff done. YOU ROCKED THIS DAY! Yea, that's pretty much how I feel right now.
I went to the pool with my friend Laura this morning. We chit chatted for a while, which was nice. But I soon faced the reality of the daunting errands that lay before me. So I decided I'd make it fun and dress all cutesy and girly. What else is a girl supposed to do?
So I tried on my blazer from Express (which is my obsession) and decided that it is just too damn hot outside to be wearing anything with long sleeves. And so decided that a cute little graphic tee would do just fine. And one with an uplifting message to top it off.
What a HOOT eh??
So once I had primped just enough, Lily and I loaded into the car and started off on our adventures around Gainesville.
And let me tell you, it's a jungle out there!!
There's mom's with their freshman babies everywhere,
the stores are just a total wreck,
(Yes, I was that creeper taking pictures in line)
and every step you take you worry you're going to be run over by the herd of oncoming shoppers.
Yes. It got pretty serious up in Wal-Mart.
So after I somehow made it out of Wal-of-people-Mart alive, Lils and I ventured over yonder into the land of cookies, toys and lawns to be piddled in, also known as, PetSmart.
It was my babies very first time. She was pretty starstruck actually. Of course the day that we go, there are tons of dogs. I guess I should have suspected as much as it was a Saturday. EARTH TO ELISE.
But on top of all of that, it was also an adoption day. So there were tons of dogs and cats in cages. It was really sad and humbling at the same time. I'm pretty sure Lil was appreciative of what a great home she has.
She did get a little bit freaked out when one of the dogs up for adoption started barking at her. She yipped and wouldn't even walk by him. My poor little Lily. We made it out alive of that jungle as well, but not before buying my baby's favorite food, which also happened to be on sale! Hallelujah!
For those of you who don't know about Blue Buffalo, find out about it. Seriously. I did my research, and though a raw diet is truly what's best for your pets, who really has the time to cook beef stew and pork chops every night? So until my schedule opens up a heck of a lot, I'm sticking with the best processed dog food out there. And that is definitely Blue.
I know that Purina and Iams sounds great and all, but really it's not all that hot for you precious, furry baby. Generally the number one ingredient is some form of starch or chicken by product. Do you read what you put into your body? You should read what you're putting into your animals' bodies as well.
Blue has so many awesome ingredients, some of them including blueberries, carrots, sweet potatoes, chicken (and not the by products), and tons of vitamins and minerals. Don't believe me? Check it out the next time you're in PetSmart!
The price is about the only downside to the food. But hey! Is your pet important to you or not? I think I vote a healthy, happy, and most importantly LONG life for mine!!! (They also make kitty food FYI!)
So speaking of putting healthy food into your pet's body, I am about to sound like a total hypocrite!! Lily had been such a good girl, that I decided to treat her with a hamburger from McDonald's. I know, I know. That's probably worse than Alpo and Wal-Mart brand dog food combined! But honestly this isn't an everyday thing! And a doggy needs a treat every once in a while! She's still getting her health food on at home =).

And after a few more errands we made our way out of the jungle and back into the peacefulness of home.  But not before taking a few more pictures with my baby =)
We slowed the night down by having a few treats. Lils had her bone, well boneS actually, that we purchased at PetSmart.
And I made myself a delicious protein smoothie!
This bad boy was filled with rice milk, two small spoonfuls of Blueberry Pomegranate frozen yogurt (From Publix. GET IT NOW!), peanut butter, Chocolate Protein powder, frozen cherries, an assortment of other frozen berries, and maybe about 3/4 cup of oats! I popped it in the freezer for a few minutes and mmmm mmmm! Was it nummy!!!
So after such an eventful day you can imagine how exhausted Lils was! She plopped her cute little booty down on my bed and took herself a nap.
I finished off the night webcamming with Ian and getting stuff ready for class.
How adorable =).
Lils is getting angry with me for staying up late. If I don't stop, I fear my life may be at risk.
So I think I'll hit the sheets and curl up with a good book. Now I just have to decide which to start.
I think I'm leaning towards The Help...
I think I'll do a review on both once I'm finished!
Here's to good reading!
